The AP is now reporting that, according to something called the National Intelligence Estimate, Al Qaida is now likely to attack the US, with a special added bonus that it might be the Iraq branch of the organization.
I was wondering why over the last week, government agencies were leaking information that Al Qaida was back to full strength and renewing efforts to sneak terrorist into the US. I guess now I know why.
Conspiracy theorists might say this release of information is planned. That the White House is trying to sway public opinion by using fear tactics so close to when Senate is planning an all-night session to debate whether the troops home. Like, say the White House has anything to fear. Because we all know from the Iraq spending bill that Congress doesn't have enough votes to do anything in regards to the war.
Am I more frightened by this latest news item? No. It merely confirms something I already knew. And if this causes a chicken little reaction from peopel who actually thought they were safe, those people should be rounded up and put in a place for people whose brains don't work the way they should.
Like I said, and stop if you heard me say this before, Dubya should have made sure Al Qaida was irreparibly damaged before getting us involved in Iraq. They didn't. And now, Iraq, a country which before we invaded had no verifyable ties to Al Qaida, now has cells there.
I can't believe more people aren't more upset about the complete and utter failure of Dubya in this area.
You know, agreeing with Michael Savage hurts me physically, but if all these people are going to do is say, "THEY'RE GOING TO ATTACK!!!!!" we should fire their asses and get some people who might, I don't know, stop the attack.
ReplyDeleteHomeland Security was saner under Tom Ridge, dammit.
It seems the whole world knows that Al-Qaida is living in the Pakastan outreaches and training their people there. If we know that, why are we not bombing the hell out of them? I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteWe're not bombing Pakistan because Pakistan doesn't have any oil.
