Myron Cope, longtime broadcaster of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has passed away. He was 79.
I can't say that Mr. Cope played a direct part of my life. I was a Pittsburgh fan, but my hometown was on the opposite side of the state from Pittsburgh. I watched the Steelers on television, I didn't listen to them much, if at all, on the radio.
But he touched my life indirectly. I own four of his trademark "Terrible Towels". I refer to the Bengals as "The Bungles", just like did.
He was the Steeler's Harry Caray. And he will be missed.
