Audio: Show us your favorite movie soundtrack.

This is an oddball choice, but I'd have to say my favorite soundtrack is the "That Thing You Do!" soundtrack. I just love the idea that all the songs were carefully created to seem like they came from the 60s. It's campy, goofy, and kitchy, but it's also good, catchy and memorable at the same time.
If I may take a moment to pimp my own site, Bill, I recently posted a piece on the writing of some of the music for THAT THING YOU DO, culled from some old interviews I had done with Adam Schlesinger and Gigolo Aunt's Steve Hurley- http://www.filmbuffonline.com/Features/ThatTuneYouDo.htm
ReplyDeleteAs for the movie itself, I still think that it is one of the best films of the 90s- a brilliant recreation of the mid-60s and its vast pop music landscape. And I was surprised when the recently released director's cut, with an extra 40 minutes, turns out to be just as great!
