I recently re-stumbled upon a publicity still from the Dawn of the Dead remake. Something about it bothered me then, and it still bothers me now:
See the belly on that Zombie? How pink and healthy it looks? That took me right out of the picture.
Now, granted, I understand that the make-up artist probably figured that the extra's shirt would rise up like that as he ran, but still. It takes a bit away from it.
Yes, I do know that this is the definition of nit-picking, and I am score major "Get a Life" points with this, but I thought I'd share.
Nit-picking, maybe... but, imagine if they had gone to the trouble to do a prosthetic stomach... that would score HUGE points with me!
ReplyDelete[das ist gut] You're right. It's cheesy. He looks like a dude in a dime-store Halloween mask. Lame.
ReplyDeleteHmm. I never noticed that before. but isn't that shot only like half a second long?
ReplyDeleteThe shot is only in the movie a half second, you are right . But the still of that shot has been used in newspapers and magazines since the movie came out. So that tiny bit of screen time has gained immortality. And every time I see it in magazines or on the 'net, I still wince. I almost didn't see the movie after seeing this still.
ReplyDeleteAnd after re-reading my post, I might not have been clear. My problem was with the publicity still, not that actual movie. Hope that clears that up.
